Located on Wequaquet Lake in Centerville, this knockdown-rebuild transformed an aging 1930s waterfront property while preserving the existing garage and one-bedroom ADU above.
The original home was a modest single-story structure with very limited living space, no longer matching the scale or potential of the waterfront lot. Beside the much larger garage, the house also created a visual imbalance on the property. The new residence was designed to correct that relationship, giving the main house a stronger presence while tying it naturally to the existing garage.
At the rear, the home opens toward the lake with generous outdoor living space, a sunroom, and a walkout lower level that takes advantage of the sloping site. The result is an elegant Cape Cod home that feels better scaled to both the property and its waterfront setting.
